About

The HiBarFilm2 Project is an Innovate UK funded project that started in March 2022 and is expected to run for 30 months. Haydale Composite Solutions Ltd is leading the consortium of eight companies – BASF, Bangor University, Cambridge Nanomaterials Technologies, Dunbia, Fre-Energy, Parkside Flexibles and Wells Plastics – to develop the next generation of high barrier films for food packaging using functionalised nanomaterials (“HiBarFilm2 Consortium”). HiBarFilm2 has an ambitious objective to achieve the same barrier performance using a mono-materials polyolefin film as the currently used multilayer barrier films.

Following an extensive brief, First Web Design were tasked with the design of the project's logo, that was to reflect both the organic and natural materials used, as well as being recyclable. Once approved, we moved on to phase two, which was to build a responsive, clean and professional looking website that was to become the focal point for all partners within the consortium. Phase three will be to design & develop an intranet site for all partners to collaborate and share documents, minutes and files within a safe and secure online environment.
